In the framework of Operation San Roque and with the aim of supporting the most vulnerable communities throughout the country, the National Army complements initiatives that seek to meet the basic needs of the inhabitants. So, it works hand in hand with the social Pastoral of the Archdiocese of Popayan; they have carried out 12 activities providing aid, once a week.
These aid kits have been distributed in sectors such as El Sinai, in Bolivar neighborhoods, Palermo and the main streets of Popayan. Added to the distribution of food baskets, breakfasts and dinners, these activities are filled with joy and hope with entertainment shows, as stated by major Jorge Eliecer Gaitan, commander of the Support Battalion of Comprehensive Action and development No. 3, who added: "Our soldiers, in addition to distributing the aid kits, in the same way share an afternoon laughter with our compatriots, who are probably going through complicated situations and, with this, forget everything for a while.
