In a coordinated operation conducted by the Colombian Navy and the National Police, it was possible to find 112 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 94 kilograms of marijuana in the urban area of Santa Marta.

Troops from the Colombian Navy and the National Police arrived in the Gaira sector and, thanks to information from Naval Intelligence, were able to find a clandestine collection center that was operating inside a house located 100 meters from the beach. In the center, 296 rectangular packages containing illicit substances were found, 115 of them contained cocaine hydrochloride and 181 marijuana.

At the site where two individuals were found, authorities also seized a Parasite-type cylinder, a structure commonly used by drug trafficking organizations to transport illicit substances attached to the hull of boats to avoid detection.

Officials from the Judicial Police of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate carried out the Preliminary Homologated Identification Test - PIPH on the material seized, determining positive results for cocaine hydrochloride.

This operation succeeded in preventing more than US$3,360,000 from entering the financial structures of the drug trafficking organizations that commit crimes in the Colombian Caribbean. It is presumed that the alkaloid belongs to the Organized Armed Group Los Pachenca, which traffics these substances to Central America.

The individuals and the material seized were put into custody of the competent authorities in order to conduct the legal actions against this event.
