The National Navy continues to conduct the frontal fight against any type of pollution of ships and containers in the Caribbean ports. The successful operation was carried out by Coast Guard Units of Santa Marta and Barranquilla.
The successful result against drug trafficking occurred during operations carried out simultaneously, in two of the main ports of the Caribbean, in the cities of Santa Marta and Barranquilla.
The first result occurred in the Bay of Santa Marta, where Coast Guard Units of that place, with support of units of the National Police Anti-Narcotics Directorate, prevented contamination of a container in the Port Society of Santa Marta.
Coast Guard Units who inspected the rudimentary boat found about 240 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, which were stored in a device, which is usually used by narcoterrorist organizations to clandestinely transport the illicit substance, in a container destined for international waters.
The two individuals that were on board the boat, noticing the presence of the authorities, abandoned it near the dock sector of the Port Society.
On the other hand, in the continuous development of patrols at the sea, Coast Guard Units of Barranquilla find about 140 kilograms of cocaine, which were transported aboard the ship 'AS FLORETTA', which was near the dock of the Barranquilla Port Society.
During the inspection by the Coast Guard Units and the Anti-Narcotics Police Units, the four bags containing the substance were found; t was possible to determine that it was cocaine hydrochloride.
With this hard blow to drug trafficking organizations it was possible to prevent more than two billion pesos from entering the finances of these illegal groups.
