On Saturday, the President of the Republic, Iván Duque Márquez, granted the Order of Boyacá decoration, in the grade of Grand Cross, to officers of the Military and Police Forces, in an act previous to the traditional Military Parade of July 20, that this year had the motto: 'More Colombian than ever'.

The recognition was made by the President, accompanied by the Minister of National Defense, Guillermo Botero, to honor the work, discipline and firmness, as well as the principles and courage of the military to protect the Colombian people.

The Order of Boyacá, in the degree of Grand Cross, was granted to the General Commander of the Military Forces, General Luis Fernando Navarro; the Commander of the Army, General, Nicacio de Jesús Martínez; the Commander of the Air Force, General Ramses Encounter; the Commander of the Navy, Admiral Evelio Enrique Ramírez; the Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Ricardo Jiménez, and the Director of the Police, General Óscar Atehortúa.

Subsequently, the President granted the Order of Boyacá, in the rank of Grand Officer, to 28 general brigadiers and three rear admirals.

At the end of this act, the impressive military exhibition began, in commemoration of the 209 years of the Independence Cry, which was carried out by the 68th Avenue, from 53rd Street and up to 80th Street, where the Colombians could see the march of 3,300 men and women of the Police, 1,500 men and women of the National Navy, 4,700 men and women of the National Army and 1,300 men and women of the Colombian Air Force.
