Comprehensive action for the people of Huila

Huila. Through the battalions deployed in the department of Huila, the Ninth Brigade aims to reach every corner of the 'Opita' territory, using the various Comprehensive action tools to help meet some of the most pressing needs of the inhabitants.

During March, activities have been intensified to reach a greater number of inhabitants. This is how, in the village El Recreo, in the municipality of Garzón, the Infantry Battalion N. 26 'Cacique Pigoanza' supports the construction of a house that will soon protect a low-income family of five children and their parents.

The communitarian work is achieved thanks to the union of efforts: Soldiers contribute their bit through the workforce, they work supervised by a construction master of the mayor, all of this, thanks to the purchase of materials by a couple.

The soldiers of the Infantry Battalion N ° 27 'Magdalena' carried out a similar task with their support for the construction of the San Juan Pablo II chapel. The activities have been concentrated in the Madelena district of the municipality of Pitalito in the south of the department of Huila.

For its part, the Artillery Battalion No. 9 'Tenerife' focuses its efforts on activities such as 'Quiero mi Barrio', this time in an articulated work with the inhabitants of the Los Parques sector of the city of Neiva and with the support of the Municipal Health Secretary. The activity is aimed at the rise of awareness in the population regarding the importance of recovering public spaces and generate links with the community with the cleaning of green areas and garbage collection.

At the same time, the military unit managed to obtain and donate 1,500 books of stories and children's legends that were donated to the library of the school 'José Eustacio Rivera', benefiting 120 low-income children.

The Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Huila has focused its efforts on the prevention of the crimes of kidnapping and extortion, concentrating its operations on the food supplies central 'Surabastos'; there the message has been clear, "I do not pay, I denounce", in campaign to make people know the toll-free number 147 through the distribution of flyers and cards, so that before a criminal operation the only option is to look for the authorities.

The Pigoanza Battalion, through a Development Support activities Day contributes to the Development in the municipality of Tesalia, and gave women, in their month, the services of General Medicine, Dentistry, Gynecology, Family Planning and Tailoring, as well as a fun and entertainment time thanks to the speech of soldier Felix Cossio, a popular music singer.
