Cesar. In recent hours, through operations, strong firefights were reported by troops of the ground Operations Battalion No.50 of the Special, Energy and Roads Battalion No. 3 of the Tenth Brigade and members of the Finances Committee of the front “Camilo Torres Restrepo” of the Organized Armed Group ELN, who through extortion, pressured the civilian population.
In the military operation, carried out in the Caño Seco sector, Punta Brava village, municipality of La Gloria, in the department of Cesar, alias Chico was killed in combat: he had been part of this criminal structure for two years.
In the same way, during the combat and after the pressure of the troops, three people, among them alias Alexander, alias Nilson and alias Natalia (minor of age) surrendered. These individuals had been wounded and so they were treated by the troops of the National Army, guaranteeing their physical conditions, respecting international humanitarian law. Subsequently, they were put into custody of the judicial authority.
In the same way, three 9mm pistol, two communication radios and a fragmentation grenade were found by the troops.
A soldier was injured in the operation, in his right cheekbone, he is at this moment stable and out of danger.
