Honor and glory to the homeland: 208 years of independence

Bogotá, D.C. This Friday, July 20, more than 10 thousand men and women of the Military Forces and the National Police will march, they will join the country party that commemorates the 208 years of the Independence Cry in the capital city of the Republic.

 

The military and police parade will be held on Avenida 68, from the 53rd to the 80th street, where the massive assistance of some 12,000 people is expected.

 

At this moment, the cadets, students and cabin boys of the military schools of officers and non-commissioned officers of the military forces and the national Police, are carrying out the preparations for the great parade, where together with their equipment, capacities, uniforms, instruments and all the materials required for this celebration, they prepare to leave all the fervor that this important date deserves.

 

The parade will count on the participation of about 9 thousand men and women of the National Army; 1,979 officers and non-commissioned officers of the National Navy; 1,200 members of the Air Force and 2,000 of the National Police. In addition, 42 aircraft of the Air Force and 18 of the National Police will be deployed.

 

It is important to say that the Colombian Air Force contributed with the massive transportation in a short time of more than 2,000 military from cities such as Cali, Barranquilla, Cartagena and Coveñas (Sucre), where aircrafts C-130 Hercules and Cassa -295 boarded and later transported in more than eight flights and 20 hours of operation what is required for the parade.
