Vichada. In search, control and fluvial safety operations, units of the National Navy found 935 gallons of contraband fuel, on the banks of the Orinoco River, in the department of Vichada.
During the first search operation carried out in the sector of Amanaven - Vichada, units of the Marine Infantry Battalion No. 50 found 12 plastic barrels abandoned on the ground, which contained 660 gallons of contraband fuel.
Later, in the sector of Carlos Lata, municipality of Cumaribo - Vichada, five barrels were found with a total of 275 gallons of gasoline inside that had entered the country illegally.
The discovery of the fuel, valued at more than 7 million pesos, hits the finances of the Organized Armed Groups that commit crimes in this area of the country.
The material was put into custody of the authorities.
