These results have been achieved thanks to the coordination of military and police resources in the Fourth Brigade.
In compliance with the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, and with the objective of weakening the resources of the threat, the soldiers of Colombian National Army, in support of the National Police, arrested several alleged members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.
This is how troops of the Infantry Battalion N.°11 Cacique Nutibara of the Fourth Brigade with units of the National Police, in compliance with a judicial order, arrived at the village Gato Negro of the municipality of Pueblorrico, Antioquia, to arrest four alleged members of the armed component of the Edwin Román Velásquez Valle a substructure of the GAO Clan del Golfo.
Among those arrested are alias Samurai, alleged ringleader of the area, whose criminal activity is carried out in the municipalities of Betulia and Pueblorrico. His record covers more than two years of criminal experience and coordinated the collection of money from extortion against merchants and farmers in the region.
In the same way, alias Canelo zone coordinator, and two other men, who interfered in several municipalities of the southwest of Antioquia, were arrested.
During the search of the houses, a Mini Uzi firearm, a 9 mm caliber pistol, two 38 mm caliber revolvers, three magazines, 77 cartridges of various calibers, six cell phones and a motorcycle were found by troops; these elements were put into custody of the authority, as well as those arrested, who must face charges for association to commit aggravated crimes for the purposes of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics, and manufacturing, trafficking and carrying firearms and ammunition
