More than 500 arrests by the 13th Brigade in the first half of 2025

Más de 500 capturas logró la Brigada 13 en el primer semestre de 2025

Thanks to the coordinated work with the Government of Cundinamarca, the Mayor's Office of Bogotá, the Attorney General's Office and the National Police, the 13th Brigade of Colombian National Army presents a positive report of the military operation corresponding to the first semester of 2025.

Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, the soldiers of the Thirteenth Brigade, unit of the Fifth Division of Colombian National Army, obtained important results in the fight against criminal structures, illegal finances, the protection of life and the care of the environment in the department of Cundinamarca and the city of Bogotá.

Between January 1 and June 30, 2025, the different units of the Brigade, under the command of Brigadier General Rodolfo Morales Franco, reported the arrest of 516 members of organized crime structures and the surrender to justice of 16 members of illegal armed groups.

They in the same way found 95 short- and long-range firearms, along with 4,263 cartridges of different calibers, 34 kilograms of hallucinogenic substances were in the same way seized, including marijuana, bazuco (crack) and cocaine, two yellow machines, and, in coordination with the CAR Cundinamarca, it was possible to close 37 mining production units, all of this promoting the defense of life.

For its part, the Cundinamarca Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), of the Thirteenth Brigade, prepared more than 25,000 people in the prevention of extortion, carried out 256 campaigns against this crime and advised 195 citizens through the toll-free national anti-extortion line 147, preventing more than 2000 million pesos from reaching the hands of criminals.

It should be noted that, as part of the military collaboration operations with the civil authority, more than 3,000 people benefited in five communitarian support activities.

Similarly, and in compliance with the environmental policy of Colombian National Army, the soldiers, in coordination with local authorities, carried out the planting of 59,113 trees of different specimens, with the purpose of supporting ecological restoration in areas of environmental importance for Bogotá and Cundinamarca.
