14 military women of the Air Force paid tribute to Antonia Santos in El Socorro, in the department of Santander

Young female Colombians who decided to develop their life project serving the country offering their different professions in the Colombian Air Force, participated in a tribute to the national heroine Antonia Santos, promoted by the Vice Presidency of the Republic in the Comunera capital city of Colombia.

14 Officers of different specialties of the Institution such as flight, security and defense of bases, aerospace medicine, administration, communications, paratroopers and logistics, among others, marched around the monument to Antonia Santos, next to the 18 Students of the Captain Andrés María Díaz-ESUFA School of NCOs in formation as a gesture of recognition to this hero of the Colombian independence who two centuries later, continues to inspire heroism, work and consecration in the search for dreams and ideals.

In the same way, the Commander of the Colombian Air Force, General Ramsés Rueda Rueda, accompanied the event, since he is son of that land of Santander, which evokes the highest feelings of patriotism and freedom, where a conversation event led by the Vice President of the Republic, Martha Lucía Ramírez de Rincón, was in the same way carried out and entitled “Women's Leadership in Colombia: Challenges and Prospects”. Major General María Paulina Leguizamón of the National Army and Colonel Lina Mateus, Director of Health of the Colombian Air Force are two military ladies with institutional recognition who participated in the event.
