454 kilograms of alkaloids were seized from narcotics trafficking organizations in Nariño

The Colombian Navy in a joint operation with the Colombian Air Force conducted the discovery of 454 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 200 grams of marijuana, in the area of the municipality of Tumaco, in the department of Na riño, which were transported by four individuals on board a boat which had been modified with a double bottom.

Naval intelligence information had guided the maritime units of the Pacific Naval Force to the area where the boat was, whose detection was supported by the Air Combat Command No.7 with an SR-560 aircraft as a tracking platform.

During the maritime and air pursuit, the four individuals launched several barrels of fuel into the sea, to gain speed in their flight, without success. The ship was intercepted by the Coast Guard units of the Colombian Navy about 60 nautical miles of the municipality of Tumaco. The military proceeded to recover the fuel from the water to prevent contamination and transferred the individuals to the port, along with the ship.

In the facilities of the Tumaco Coastguard Station, the boat was inspected, finding the double bottom with 454 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 200 grams of marijuana. This alkaloid in the international illegal market would cost approximately 15 million dollars.

So far this year, the Pacific Naval Force has found about 12 tons of cocaine hydrochloride and more than three tons of marijuana, preventing about 385 million dollars from entering the drug trafficking organizations that commit crimes in the region.
