Thanks to an intelligence work carried out by troops of the Rainforest Infantry Battalion No. 19, a platoon of soldiers carrying out control and territorial security tasks was alerted on a possible terrorist operation that sought to attack the life and good physical condition of military personnel and the inhabitants.
In the last few hours, in the village of San Francisco, department of Guaviare, soldiers of the Twenty-Second Rainforest Brigade found and neutralized an illegal hideout of explosive devices containing 78 antipersonnel mines and 27 meters of detonating cord, intended to be used in an attack against troops and civilians in the area.
The controlled destruction of the explosives was carried out in accordance with the procedures established by the Explosives and Demolitions Team (EXDE), without causing damage to the environment.
