The activity in rural area of the municipality of El Tarra, Norte de Santander, was focused on preserving the environment and the water sources of the sector. During the activity, employees of the Personer铆a Municipal, Secretariat of Planning, and presidents of Juntas de Acci贸n Comunal (Meetings of Communal Action) of this municipality, along with military personnel, will carry out the planting of seedlings of Brownea Ariza, Acacios and Chical谩, in the neighborhood of Brisas del R铆o.

In parallel to these operations, troops belonging to the Engineers Construction Battalion No.50, conducted the planting of about 150 Mangifera trees, in the Casa de Zinc village, municipality of Tib煤, Norte de Santander.

It is planned to continue these activities in different sectors of the Catatumbo region, which seek to improve environmental conditions, visibly deteriorated by illegal logging and deforestation for illicit plantations.

The Energy and Road Operational Command No.1 and the Vulcano Task Force -military units belonging to the Second Division of the National Army- will continue promoting activities aimed at the care and preservation of the environment.
