In compliance with the directive of the President of the Republic, Gustavo Petro Urrego, the Colombian Aerospace Force (FAC) successfully carried out the repatriation of 306 compatriots of the United States, working to create safe and dignified conditions for their return to the country.
This air operation, carried out at the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Migration of Colombia, reaffirms the commitment of the Colombian State to the protection and wellbeing of its citizens abroad.
Details of the operation:
FAC Boeing 737-700 aircraft were used, optimizing their available capacity for the mission.
The collaboration of the US authorities facilitated the repatriation process.
During the flights, a team of military doctors accompanied the people, working for the assistance of passengers with health strokes.
Three flights were made: two on January 28 and one on January 29, 2025, carrying 306 passengers, including 42 children, two elderly people and 118 women, some of whom were pregnant.
The cost of the operation was approximately $2,200 million pesos, about USD 529 000.
