In the operation, 14 rifles that would be used to maintain confrontations by organized armed groups were found by troops.
Thanks to military intelligence work, troops of the National Army found the presence of an armed group of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Carlos Pati帽o which was traveling by road to Guachicono in the direction of the municipality of Sucre - Cauca.
A military operation was immediately carried out against these individuals, who upon realizing the work of the troops escaped, not before opening fire against the military units. At the interchange of shots, and due to the quick operation of members of the Military Forces, the arrest in flagrante delicto of three criminals was possible.
In the search and control of the area, 14 rifles, a machinegun, 96 pistols, two hand grenades, two pistols, three explosive devices, 13 multipurpose vests, bracelets alluding to this residual GAO, military accessories material and ammunition of different caliber were found by troops.
According to preliminary information, the war material was intended to strengthen this criminal structure to continue with the disputes over territory by this armed group with the GAO Eln, sowing anxiety in the communities.
According to the early warning 020 of 2022, issued by the Ombudsman's Office, these structures are responsible for the attacks against civilians in the municipalities of Almaguer, Bol铆var and Sucre, being flagrant violations of human rights and the provisions of international humanitarian law.
The arrested and the material found were put into custody of the authorities to continue to conduct the process of prosecution.
