Elite Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the National Police and units of the Colombian Air Force (FAC), in coordination with the Attorney General of the Nation, neutralized yesterday in the village Chuapal, rural area of San José del Guaviare, Yeison Eduardo Herrán Sandoval, known in the world of crime as 'Yeison Orejas', a trusted man of the top ringleader of the residual Organized Armed Group Structure 7 'Gentil Duarte', which commits crimes in that region of the country.
This structural blow, took place in the framework of 'Operation Orinoquía VI', in the same way led to the neutralization of the individual known as 'Culebro', who belonged to the security group of 'Yeison Orejas'. In the same way, troops discovered a rifle, two shotguns, a pistol, a hand grenade, 11 grenades 40 mm, as well as military accessories.
This result is the product of intelligence and criminal investigation activities that included overflights in recent months with COLOMBIAN AIR FORCE platform aircraft and field work conducted by the National Police. During the assault operation, which used Aircrafts of the Air Combat command No. 2 of the Air Force, and Jungla Comandos and Gaula Elite special groups, the troops arrived at the space of the operation.
'Yeison Orejas', financial ringleader of the structure, was in this region of the country, mainly carrying out activities related to extortion and drug trafficking, such as obtaining illicit resources in the municipalities of Nueva Colombia, La Tigra, Bellavista, El Internado, El Tigre, Vista Hermosa, Puerto Rico and Puerto Concordia (Meta) and San José del Guaviare (Guaviare).
