In an effort to safeguard the good physical condition and well-being of the country's children, the Colombian Aerospace Force, FAC, through the Amazon Air Group and in coordination with the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing, ICBF, carried out a humanitarian transfer from La Chorrera, to Leticia, in the department of Amazonas.
In response to the request of the ICBF and the need to provide immediate assistance, a C-208 aircraft was sent to transfer four children who were allegedly in a helpless state due to possible domestic violence, as well as a teenager in a delicate state of health.
During the mission, the children (ages ranging from 3 and 7) were evacuated from this non-municipalized area accompanied by their responsible adult and are under the care of the institutions. In the same way, the child under 12, who had a severe intoxication was sent to the Leticia clinic for evaluation and prompt recovery.
Through these humanitarian flights, the Colombian Aerospace Force reaffirms its commitment to the well-being of the most remote communities in the country, overcoming geographical barriers and facilitating access to essential services in hard-to-reach regions such as the Amazonas.
The Institution will continue to work in coordination with other institutions, to strengthen the activities of the State, protect life and to work to increase the security of the inhabitants.
