The Comprehensive operation and Development Support Command, the Fifth Division and the Engineers Command, in collaboration with the Minuto de Dios Corporation and the Food Bank, carried out the collection, preparation and shipment of more than 28 tons of humanitarian aid intended to support the communities hit by the armed conflict in the Catatumbo subregion, Norte de Santander Department.
Thanks to the joint efforts, it was possible to gather 8 tons of toilet kits and clothing, which will be distributed in the city of Cúcuta to benefit displaced people. This work has been possible thanks to the solidarity commitment of citizens, organizations and institutions that actively participated in this noble cause.
In addition, an additional 20 tons of humanitarian aid were collected in coordination with the Food Bank. 10 tons will be distributed to Cúcuta and the other 10 tons will be destined to the municipality of Tibú, in order to provide support for the most urgent needs of communities that are in highly vulnerable conditions.
