Anti-drone capabilities are implemented at the Air Combat Command No.2

cogfm-fac-capacidad-antidrones-cacom2-23.jpg

In order to strengthen the surveillance and detection resources of the Air Combat Command No.2 of the Colombian Aerospace Force, different security systems have been implemented in alliance with the High-Tech Corporation CODALTEC, which leads this Unit to be at the forefront in the implementation of new technologies for security.

This is the installation of a ground defense and surveillance radar system that detects the possible intrusion of people, animals or vehicles including drones, in a certain area during 24 hours, even in rainy conditions or low visibility, complementing the other mechanisms for detection and inhibition with those already available in the different Military Air Units.

In the same way, an inhibition system in the same way developed by CODALTEC, leads to an immediate stop of flaying objects such as drones, by the activation of the protocol to leave the detected object inoperative, this because the Air Combat Command No.2 is a military zone, so the operation of this type of devices is restricted, since they could hit the security of air operations.

By incorporating this type of mechanisms, the Colombian Aerospace Force implements the use of new technologies to continue working for the fulfillment of the constitutional mission in defense of Colombians.
