The individual would be part of the Uldar Cardona Rueda Substructure of this armed group.
In compliance with the strategic objectives of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, troops of the Airborne Infantry Battalion N.° 31 Rifles, attached to the Eleventh Brigade of Colombian National Army, in a coordinated and inter-institutional manner with the Criminal and Judicial Investigation Section of the National Police and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office, arrested an alleged member of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, known by the alias of Lucho.
The military operation was reported in the village La Concha, in the municipality of Nechí, Antioquia. Search procedures were carried out at the place to a building, which resulted in the arrest of the man and the finding of a 9 mm caliber pistol, ammunition, magazines, 2 communication radios, a motorcycle and booklets with information regarding the GAO Clan del Golfo.
In the same way, it was possible to find elements and military accessories (42 hammocks), which would be for the exclusive use of the Military Forces and were being stored on the site.
The arrested man, who will have to face charges for the alleged crime of manufacturing, trafficking or carrying firearms or ammunition, was put, along with the material found, into custody of the authorities to continue with the corresponding judicial processes.
Through these operations, the troops reaffirm their commitment to counter any criminal activity that the organized armed groups in the Bajo Cauca subregion of Antioquia intend to carry out.
