In the course of a joint, coordinated and inter-institutional military operation, troops of the National Army, the Air Force, the Police and the Attorney General's Office arrested alias Usten and alias Yair, individuals who were allegedly part of the Edwin Rom谩n Vel谩squez substructure of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.
The military action was carried out thanks to intelligence work with the support of the Civic Participation Network and the expertise of the soldiers, which led to the arrest of these individuals, who would be responsible for collecting information for the group of selective homicides and the forced displacement of inhabitants in the sector. In the same way, they would have participated in the murder of Alfonso Garc铆a, known in the region as El Brujo, on January 6 of this year.
During the operation, 2 rifles, 3 hand grenades, 12 magazines, more than 1,500 cartridges of different calibers, 1 communications radio, 5 multipurpose vests and 5 field equipment were in the same way found.
