The authorities of the department continue to accurately hit the finances of the illegal organizations that commit crimes in this region of the country.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, soldiers of the 33rd Junín Light Infantry Battalion, in coordination with the National Police, recently uncovered and dismantled a coca paste base production laboratory, allegedly belonging to the organized armed group (GAO) Clan del Golfo.
The finding of this illegal complex was reported in the El Paraíso sector, in the municipality of Tierralta, department of Córdoba. During the procedure, the authorities destroyed a rudimentary structure with more than 20 kilos of coca base paste, 209 kilos of chopped coca leaf, DIESEL petroleum, gasoline, 5 gallons of coca base paste in production; 21 barrels, cement, ammonium, among other precursors and materials for the manufacture of the drug.
This result generates a loss to the finances of the organized armed group (GAO) Clan del Golfo by approximately 120 million pesos, and strengthens the institutional work by the troops in the fight against drug trafficking.
