The military and police intelligence work led to the identification of the alleged members of this group and to know their modus operandi.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, which aims to stabilize the territories, troops of the 11th Cacique Nutibara Infantry Battalion, of the Fourth Brigade, in a coordinated work with the National Police, dismantled the organized gang Los del Nariño.
The military and police operations are carried out in two municipalities of the southwest of Antioquia; the first, took place in the Nariño neighborhood, of the municipality of Betulia, where 4 individuals were arrested.
The second operation was carried out on July 20, in the municipality of Urrao; there, by judicial order, a person was arrested. All of them apparently would be members of the organized gang Los del Nariño.
The members of this illegal organization carried out illegal activities, such as the sale and distribution of hallucinogenic substances and recruiting minors to be used as vending "points" and/or hitmen.
During the search of the houses, 35 9-millimeter caliber cartridges were found by troops, which remained into custody of the authority, as well as those arrested, who will have to face charges of association to commit aggravated crimes for the purposes of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics, and manufacturing, trafficking and carrying firearms and ammunition.
Thanks to the dismantling of this group, a reduction in targeted homicides is expected in the urban and rural area of the municipality of Concordia, as well as a direct impact on the drug trade and distribution, which generated revenues estimated at 250 million pesos per month.
