This result represents the destabilization of the structure of the GAO Clan del Golfo and its ability to carry out criminal operations against civilians.
Troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Córdoba, attached to the Eleventh Brigade of the National Army, after sustaining fighting against the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, reported the death in the framework of military operations of an alleged member of the Substructure Javier Yepes Cantero.
The military operation was reported in the Bellavista village, municipality of Ciénaga de Oro, Córdoba. During search and anti-extortion accompaniment work, troops found several members of the criminal structure, who, upon realizing the existence of the troops, opened fire on the military unit.
In the operation, a 38 mm caliber revolver, a traumatic weapon, cartridges for the same and about 1.2 million pesos in cash were found by troops. Money apparently obtained from collecting money from extortion; it was put into custody of the authorities.
