Thanks to the work of military intelligence, troops of the Ground Operations Battalion No. 50 of the National Army, in military operations of territorial control of the area, found in the village El Ed茅n, in the municipality of El Carmen, a border area of the department of Norte de Santander and Cesar, a cocaine laboratory and a laboratory for the production of coca base paste, belonging to the 'Camilo Torres' front of Eln.
The cocaine laboratory, which produced more than a ton of cocaine monthly, had three wooden structures that measured 230 square meters and contained an electricity generator, 14 barrels of 55 gallons each with DIESEL, three barrels of 55 gallons with gasoline, a washing machine, two fire extinguishers, 10 microwave ovens, four precision scales, two energy meters, an industrial hydraulic press, and 60 rolls of insulating tape.
In addition, it had eight tanks of 1,000 liters each with thinner, 72 bags of 50 kilos with caustic soda, six air compressors, an electric pump and 50 meters of white cloth; elements that were used by the ELN to produce more than a ton of cocaine hydrochloride monthly.
The laboratory was made in wood with a size of 70 square meters and contained four plastic tanks of 500 liters each, with, apparently, acid substances, seven plastic barrels of 55 gallons with Thinner, six bags of caustic soda, three bags of urea, seven barrels of four gallons with acetone, an industrial stove, a gas cylinder of 40 pounds, a washing machine of 16 pounds and a roll of white cloth.
