This construction functioned at the service of drug trafficking and belonged to the Organized Armed Group Eln, front Comuneros del Sur.

In military operation conducted by troops of the National Army and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, it was possible to find and destroy two hideouts with war material, military garments, communications and explosive devices, apparently belonging to the Organized Armed Group Eln.

This result is produced thanks to the information provided by the Civic Participation Network, which initially reported the possible discovery of explosive devices in the village Limones, municipality of Barbacoas. Immediately the deployment of troops began to verify this information and activate security protocols.

In the place troops found 21 grenades and three rudimentary mortars, 213 cartridges of different calibers, five magazines, 55 electric detonators and about 15 antipersonnel mines that were intended to be used by this terrorist group to attack on the Security forces.

In the same way, eight communication radios, four multipurpose vests, a uniform of the Ecuadorian Army, and identification bracelets with the Eln acronym were found by troops.
