Intelligence work, along with the use of trained dogs, led the troops of the High Mountain Battalion No.9 of the Ninth Brigade in coordination with the Specialized Directorate against Criminal Organizations, Decoc, to find an illegal hideout with explosive material, belonging to ancient illegal structures that operated in this area in the department of Huila.

The illegal armed groups used this type of elements for the homemade manufacture of devices prohibited in the norms of International Humanitarian Law. This with the objective of slowing the operations of the soldiers towards their camp areas.

The operation took place in La Arcadia district, where members of the military unit and the Technical Investigation Corps of the Prosecutor's Office (CTI) conducted a detailed search of the area, moments in which the dog warned of the presence of explosives in an area covered with old vegetation.

After security protocols, it was established that it was a hideout in which 15 kilos of the powerful Anfo explosive were stored, an element that was destroyed under controlled conditions by the EXDE Explosives and Demolitions Team.
