In a territorial control operation, troops of the National Army found and destroyed two coca base paste laboratories in the village San Rafael, in rural area of the municipality of Sonsón in eastern Antioquia.

The structures belonged to the organized criminal group 'Los Chatas'. Troops found them in an area of difficult access when they were patrolling, according to order of operations in the area.

27 kilograms of coca, 101 gallons of gasoline, 16 gallons of ammonia, 275 kilograms of minced leaves, 42 kilograms of cement, 175 kilograms of fertilizer and other liquids and solid materials used in the production of the alkaloid were found by troops.

In conclusion, the dismantling of these two laboratories significantly hits the subsystem of finance of the criminal group 'Los Chatas', which not only seeks to commercialize the narcotics that it produces in the municipal capital cities of eastern Antioquia, but in the same way, in the metropolitan area of the Aburrá Valley.
