The military operation carried out by Colombian National Army to counter the plans of the residual organized armed groups continue to leave important results.
The Ninth Brigade, through troops of the 27th Magdalena Infantry Battalion, in coordination with the department of Huila Police, made the finding of 42 kilograms of gold, which were allegedly transported illegally along the roads of the department.
During the operation of a vehicle, the troops found the precious metal inside, without its occupants being able to prove the legal origin. Immediately, two men were arrested in flagrante delicto, who together with the material were put into custody of the authority.
According to preliminary investigations, this gold is estimated to cost 20,580 million pesos; it would belong to the residual organized armed group Comandos de Frontera, and would be used to finance their criminal activities and strengthen their illicit activities in the south of the country.
Through this operation, Colombian National Army deals a powerful blow to the illegal finances of the residual structures, reaffirming its commitment to security, the defense of natural resources and the protection of the inhabitants of the department of Huila.
