The Cubeo Indigenous people living in the community of Puerto Golondrinas, a small region near the mouth of the Cuduyar铆 River in the Vaup茅s River work to keep alive their pottery traditions.
40 minutes by boat and half an hour walking, was the time necessary for soldiers of the National Army and the civil authorities of the Department of Vaup茅s to reach the community of Puerto Golondrinas, a place inhabited by Cubeans.
There the institutions ensure the preservation of the ancestral cultures of the region and the well-being of its inhabitants.
During this Holy Week, the soldiers of the National Army with vocation and respect for cultural diversity, have led humanitarian aid and lots of fun for the small ones in Puerto Golondrinas, leaving a message on the Institution鈥檚 work to protect these people and prevent forced recruitment of children in the region.
In this settlement, there are 25 families, composed of 120 people, mostly women and children, who through their pottery traditions, generate an economic livelihood and extend their ancestral legacy to the rest of the country and the world.
