The Colombian Air Force, in coordination with the National Personnel Recovery Center (CNRP), continues to support the inhabitants from remote areas of the national territory. This time, it conducted the aeromedical transfer of an eight-month-old baby diagnosed with covid-19.
This transfer was made from Bah铆a M谩laga, where the Colombian Navy arranged a helicopter to transport the baby and his mother to the Juanchaco airport in Buenaventura, where the ambulance aircraft King 350, of the Military Transport Air Command (CATAM) was waiting for them to transfer them to Bogot谩. During the flight, the baby was attended by the medical team, who were in charge of constantly monitoring him.
The aircraft used for this transfer had the adaptation of an isolation chamber with the proportions of the cabin, in order to guarantee the safety and well-being of both the patient and the crew and medical personnel.
In the same way, this operation had the highest biosecurity conditions implemented by the Air Institution for this type of operations.
