Authorities in Tolima, dismantled in the municipality of Espinal, the Organized Common Crime Group Los Galleros, specialized in the marketing of narcotics in this sector of the country. The joint, coordinated and interagency operation conducted by the Colombian Aerospace Force, Colombian National Army, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office of the Nation, led to the arrest of seven of the alleged members.
Those now arrested were put into custody of the authority, for the crimes of homicide, theft and trafficking, manufacture or carrying of narcotics. These individuals are: alias gomelo, alias mono, alias flaco, alias Isidro, alias willy, alias care loco and alias Crespo, the latter accused of being ringleader of the group, which in the same way according to citizen denunciations, was disturbing both peace and healthy coexistence, due to territorial clashes.
During the operation, 200 grams of cripy-type marijuana, 560 grams of coca base and 25 9-millimeter caliber cartridges were found by troops; on the other hand, the investigative work revealed that Los Galleros distributed drugs at home delivery and in facilities in the Saucedal, Villa Laura, Libertador and San Rafael neighborhoods of the municipality of Espinal.
