The laboratories apparently belonged to the Pacificadores de Samaná substructure, of the aforementioned organized armed group.
In the frontal fight against drug trafficking, troops of the Special Energy and Road Battalion No. 4, of the Fourth Brigade, found and dismantled in a controlled way five laboratories for the production of coca base paste, in a rural area of the municipality of San Luis, in the East of Antioquia, hitting the illicit activities that finance the criminal structures that commit crimes in the department.
The soldiers arrived at the village of La Cristalina, where the rudimentary constructions used for the production of the narcotic were intervened.
In the place troops found 350 gallons of diesel, 322 gallons of gasoline, 150 gallons of ammonia and 605 gallons of coca base paste solution, as well as a black barrel with a capacity of 500 liters and multiple plastic and metal containers used for the illegal storage of chemical substances.
In the same way, 260 kilograms of urea, 25 kilograms of lime, 50 kilograms of cement and 30 kilograms of coca leaf, precursors used in the different phases of narcotic production, were also neutralized.
In the same way, elements used for production were disabled, including a drainer, a mixer, 3 sprayers and a scale, in addition to more than 60 plastic and metal barrels used for the transport and storage of liquid precursors.
At the end of this operation, it was possible the controlled destruction of about 200 kilograms of coca paste base, equivalent to 740 gallons, along with 225 kilograms of solid precursors and 872 gallons of liquid precursors, which means an estimated loss of more than 630 million pesos.
Through this result, Colombian National Army ratifies its commitment to continue carrying out military operations that weaken illegal activities and contribute to the protection of the life, security and tranquility of Colombians.
