One hundred and five soldiers of this unit, which is in support of the Sixth Brigade of the National Army, are already in the three municipalities of influence of the Nevado del Ruiz volcano.
In order to create awareness among the inhabitants of the municipalities of Murillo, Líbano and Herveo, the soldiers of the Disaster Assistance and Prevention Brigade have already been deployed in support of the Sixth Brigade of the National Army, to invite them to voluntarily evacuate and in turn take the necessary measures in case of an eruption of the Nevado del Ruiz Volcano.
In the Las Novillas village of the municipality of Murillo, accompaniment was carried out with the Murillo risk management coordinator, where civilians were trained in the preventive measures that should be done for the possible eruption of the Nevado del Ruiz Volcano.
In Libano, a meeting was held with the liaison of the Risk Management office of the municipality, where the contingency and emergency plan was verified, as well as the helipads, possible temporary shelters.
Finally in Herveo, the contingency and emergency plan was verified, in addition, presentation began for the communities so that they begin voluntary evacuation, especially when the orange alert is constant.
