Air Force captures alias Floro, financier of the GDO gang Puntilleros in the department of Vichada
In an operation coordinated by the Police, the Colombian Air Force and the National Army, an interdiction operation was carried out in the sector Caranal, Department of Meta, where Floresmiro Salgado Merchan, aka “Floro”, was captured, he would be funder of the so called structure Libertadores del Vichada of the Organized Criminal Group - GDO “Puntilleros”.
For more than 10 months of intelligence work, this operation was carried out, led by the Organized Crime Structures Investigation Group (GREDO-PNC in Spanish), in which the Regional Intelligence Fusion Center - CEFIR of the ARES Task Force in the same way participated as part of the strategy to counter drug trafficking threats in the east of the country.
In this way, it is possible to destabilize the chain of command of the GDO “Puntilleros”, damaging drug traffickers groups in the Vichada region, where this structure carried out its movements, taking advantage of the border area to take drugs outside the country.
Alias Floro, who was in the criminal structure for more than 15 years, was captured for the crimes: aggravated crime conspiracy, aggravated homicide, manufacturing, traffic, carrying firearms or ammunition.
The individual was put into custody of the Prosecutor's Office 107 Specialized Against Organized Crime.
