The individual would be responsible for two homicides perpetrated in Neiva, in the department of Huila. His criminal activity in the Organized Criminal Group ‘Los Caqueteños’ would have started four years ago.
In the territorial control operation and thanks to the operations of the Military Intelligence Battalion No.5, in joint, coordinated and interagency work with the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Huila, CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office with the accompaniment of Police units, It was possible to capture Kevin Valencia Astudillo, head of the network of hitmen belonging to the Organized Criminality Group, GDO ‘Los Caqueteños’.
The 19-year-old man, from Campoalegre, Huila, had an arrest warrant issued by the Prosecutor's Office 11 of the Specialized Unit for the crimes of illegal possession of firearms and aggravated homicide.
Being a minor of age, he would have been responsible for the murder, on February 27, 2017, of the young man Arnulfo Pinzón, son of the leader of the Departmental Bureau of Victims, Derly Pastrana Yara. The facts were reported in the Centenario neighborhood of Neiva.
After a few months of reclusion in a specialized center for teenagers, ‘Kevin Tapias’ went on the run, last July 5 apparently to kill Hector Rivera, known as ‘Morocho’, who, according to investigations, was a social leader of the political party, Farc.

The capture was reported in a residential building in Neiva, where men of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Huila and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) Bogotá, with a warrant, carried out the search of the property. The man in his attempt to flee of the authorities, hid inside a small warehouse of the apartment, however, after a rigorous inspection he was captured.
With this capture the GDO 'Los Caqueteños' is significantly hit, by neutralizing one of the most significant links for strengthening its economic structure. At the same time, a message of tranquility is sent to citizens who were being victims of the intimidation of this structure
