Soldiers of the Fifth Brigade, a unit of the Second Division of the National Army, in coordination with the SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE) and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Magdalena Medio and after an inter-agency investigation work with the support of the Military Intelligence Battalion No.2 , it was possible the capture of alias Marihuano, alleged ringleader of the organized crime group - GDO "Los de la 52", required by arrest warrant for crimes of homicide, extortion and commercialization of narcotic drugs, in the special district of Barrancabermeja, in the department of Santander.
Alias Marihuano, ringleader of this criminal group, was captured in the city of Barranquilla. He has a criminal experience of more than 10 years in different structures and has a history of homicide in 2007, torture in 2008, threats in 2012, aggravated homicide with a victim in an inferior situation; he apparently belonged to the Bolívar Central Bloc of the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia - AUC, and he is in the same way responsible for extortion, intra-urban forced displacement and homicides in the municipality of Barrancabermeja.
On the other hand, in 24 raids carried out on the urban area of the petroleum port, the authorities found eight more individuals who are members of this same organization, known by the aliases of Rolo, Chenga, Avichucho, Pirata, Negro, Hincha, Mona and Tato.
Those captured must face charges for conspiracy to commit a crime, homicide, drug trafficking and manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possessing firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.
