Cauca. In territorial control operations carried out by troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) in the department of Valle, in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, it was possible to capture two individuals who were traveling in a truck with a lot of explosive material, on the way that connects the municipalities of Su谩rez and Timba, in the north of the department of Cauca.
In a control checkpoint in the hamlet San Francisco, in the area of Su谩rez, a vehicle was searched. The trained dog detected the presence of explosive material. During the search of the content of the vehicle the troops found an anti-tank rocket M-80, from Yugoslav, and 235 blocks of Ecuadorian pentolite for demolition were found.
The individuals, the explosives, as well as the vehicle and a cell phone that was found inside it, were put into custody of the Prosecutor's Office 93 for the organized crime in Cali, to proceed with their judicial process.
According to the first information, this material was apparently going to be marketed by the company 'Milton Hern谩ndez Ortiz' of the Organized Armed Group Eln, a structure that commits crimes in the area, meanwhile, the authority will proceed with the investigations that will establish who the explosives belonged to.
With this result, it is possible to neutralize any type of terrorist attack against the Security forces, the civilian population and the critical infrastructure of the Nation, which the groups that commit crimes in the Colombian south-west intend to carry out, demonstrating once again the commitment of the Army to guarantee security in this part of the national territory.
The Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) invites the population to denounce any type of information that leads to act in an effective way, against all the factors of instability that harm the tranquility of the inhabitants of the region.
