The drug would belonged to the Residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-r) Comisión 16 and was valued at approximately USD $800,000.

In a security and defense operation, and through intelligence carried out by units of the Battalion of Engineers No.28 Colonel Arturo Herrera Castaño of the Twenty-eighth Brigade of the National Army, in conjunction with the Eastern Air Group (GAORI) of the Colombian Air Force and interagency with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office, a truck-type vehicle containing a ton of marijuana inside was intercepted.

The operation took place in the municipality known as La Carimagua, in the municipality of Puerto Gaitan, Meta, on Route 40 that leads to the municipality of Puerto Carreño, Vichada. In that place, the troops set up a checkpoint where a Chevrolet truck with XCJ-901 license plates was intercepted. It contained a ton of creepy-type marijuana.

In the event, the driver identified as Edwin López Cortes was captured. He stated that this cargo had foreign countries as final destination for its commercialization. In addition, it is presumed that the drug found owned the residual structures of the GAO Comisión 16 and was valued at approximately USD $800,000.

The capture, the immobilized vehicle and the drug found, were put into custody of the authorities to carry out the judicial process.
