In a joint, coordinated and interagency operation conducted by the Colombian Air Force, the National Army, the Colombian Navy and the National Police, two suspected members of the organized armed group, Gao, Clan del Golfo, were captured in the Department of Chocó.
The operation was carried out in the sector known as La Monja, in the municipality of Medio Atrato, where it was possible to capture these individuals, apparently belonging to the substructure Heroes de Jesús Carretera, of the aforementioned criminal organization.
In this mission troops also found two pistols, a 38mm revolver, and ammunition for them, as well as communications elements, which were used for their criminal activities.
The military forces will continue to strengthen inter-agency work with the Office of the Attorney General, carrying out operations of territorial control, security and defense, in order to counter the criminal activities of organized armed groups, GAO, that commit crimes in this area of the country, thus ratifying the commitment to the protection of the inhabitants.
