CATAM transports equipment to face possible fires in the Pacific region

CATAM transporta equipos para enfrentar posibles incendios en el Pacífico

In a joint effort to improve the response to face potential forest fires in the Pacific region, the Military Transport Air Command (CATAM) carried out the airlift of specialized emergency equipment. This operation was coordinated with the National Personnel Recovery Center (CNRP) and the National Fire Directorate of Colombia (CNBC), with the aim of strengthening the country's fire departments in the management of forest fires.

The air transport command sent a C-295 aircraft that flew from Bogotá to El Caraño Airport, in the department of Chocó. During the activity, essential tools and equipment for firefighting were transported, including fatigue uniforms, a motor pump to fight fires and pallets and tools, which will be distributed among the fire departments of the Pacific region, an area highly vulnerable to this type of emergency due to its climate and geography.

This transfer is part of the preparations for a possible fire alert, which poses a threat to the environment and nearby communities. The operation works for a prompt distribution of materials, optimizing emergency response times and improving the effectiveness of fire management in the region.
