Chilean helicopter pilots trained in Colombia will strengthen air capacity in South America

fac_-_fuerza_aerea_chilena.jpg

During four months, officers of the Chilean Aerospace Force were prepared at the International Helicopter School for the Military Forces EIHFA, at the N.4 Air Combat Command, in Melgar, Tolima, to return to their country holding the title of Helicopter Pilots, an achievement with which they will contribute to the different air operations of South America, thanks to the knowledge obtained in the Colombian Aerospace Force.

The officers who made the Basic Helicopter Pilot Course No.88, passed a rigorous training plan that consisted of 64 academic hours and 75 flight hours, where they put into practice what they learned in the theoretical phase; knowledge in aerodynamics, emergencies, limits, TH-67 helicopter systems, among others, which gave them the necessary tools to take off, fly and land safely.

During the training process, the students who had a great willingness to learn, ability to work both individually and in a team, proper handling of challenging situations, assistance, listening, among other qualities, counted on the necessary tools and experience of the instructor pilots, to get the objective. As a notable aspect, it should be mentioned that it was a woman who held the position of Course Commander, which shows that there are no limits or impediments to making dreams a reality.
