As part of the strategy for air and Space Development of the Colombian Air Force, the protection of Natural Resources and the environment becomes one of the air missions to contribute to the defense and security sector. The Air Combat Command No 4, CACOM 4, seeking to be consistent with its objectives, actively participated in the first activity of collection of residual useless elements led by the mayor of the municipality of Melgar.
During the activity and under the campaign “Amor a Melgar” (Love to Melgar), member of CACOM 4 and members of the team of the Public Health Plan of collective interventions, PIC in Spanish, visited some homes in the rural and urban area of this municipality, in order to identify the places prone to spread dengue. There, they contributed in the collection of elements such as tires, barrels and abandoned materials, in addition to encouraging the inhabitants of these communities to have healthy living habits and learn on disease prevention.
