The Casa C-295 aircraft transported from the city of Cancun a desalination plant to the Island of Providencia, which will supply more than 300 thousand liters of drinking water a day, which leads to alleviate the supply of this vital element for the Island community.
The desalination plant will be in the Agua Dulce sector, under the need to supplement the water supply, due to the maintenance and optimization of the current water treatment plant that the Island has, and the dredging of the freshwater reservoir.
Through the Ministry of Housing, the resources were managed so that the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management will carry out the recruitment process and the Ministry of National Defense will support the logistics, transport and personnel with the loading and unloading of the elements.
In this way, the Colombian Air Force reaffirms its commitment to the reconstruction and well-being of the Island Department.
