Colombian Air Force transports 10 mechanical ventilators to Cali for New Intensive Care Unit

In support of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, A Casa - 212 tactical transport aircraft of the Colombian Air Force arrived in Pereira, Risaralda, to collect 10 mechanical ventilators, which arrive to open new beds in the Intensive Care Unit of the Isaias Duarte Cancino ESE (hospital) in Cali.

These artificial respirators were being transported overland from Bogotá and were detained due to roadblocks, so immediate air support was required to save more lives of COVID-19 patients who need them; taking into account that the occupation of ICU beds is at 96 percent in Valle del Cauca.

It was thanks to the activation of a humanitarian aerobridge that this mission could be carried out, as well as operations of transportation of personnel, cargo, hospital elements, COVID-19 vaccines, in addition to aeromedical transfers, which have saved the lives of Colombians who have not been able to reach medical centers by usual roads.
