n recent days, more than six tons of cocaine have been found by the Colombian Navy and the Panama SENAN.
With these results, about 207 million dollars stopped entering the finances of drug trafficking organizations.
In two international operations against drug trafficking organizations, the Colombian Navy in a multilateral work with the National Aeronautical Service - SENAN of Panama, discovered the 6.1 tons of cocaine hydrochloride in the waters of the Caribbean Sea.
The first result was achieved thanks to the combination of air and surface resources of the Colombian Navy and the SENAN of Panama, which were deployed in a detailed follow-up operation on a Go Fast boat that, apparently, was transporting illicit substances. After a chase by sea, the maritime interception of the ship was possible north of Isla Grande in the Province of Col贸n, Panamanian maritime territory.
Four individuals of Colombian nationality were traveling on board the boat, who upon realizing the work of the naval units left an undetermined amount of sacks at sea. The authorities proceeded to recover the sacks, finding inside 3 152 rectangular packages that turned out to be 3,559 kilograms cocaine hydrochloride.
The second investigation was carried out with information provided by the Colombian Navy, where Panamanian authorities carried out maritime monitoring and control in the Province of Col贸n, north of Playa Chiquita. They achieved the interception of a ship carrying inside 2 364 rectangular packages, which left positive result for 2 593 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 77.9 kilograms of coca paste base.
These two operations reach to 6.1 tonnes of cocaine hydrochloride found thanks to the coordinated work conducted by the Colombian and Panamanian authorities in the last days, which represents losses close to the 207 million dollars to drug trafficking organizations. In ten same way, this operation, prevents the marketing and distribution of over 15 million doses of cocaine on the international illegal market.
The arrested individual personnel and the material were put into custody of the s authorities.
