- Conducted by July 25 and 30, the Multinational Strategic Exercise Hydra II will be held, with the participation of the U.S. Army Southern Command and the Colombian Military Forces

- The exercise seeks to strengthen interoperability between the two countries, demonstrating the professionalism and Resources of the troops of the two nations.

For the second time the Military Fort of Tolemaida opens its doors to a multinational strategic exercise conducted by the united States Southern Command and the Military Forces of Colombia, which will led the exchange of knowledge by the units of the two nations, aimed to train troops in military operations.

This exercise is part of a series of operations that are being carried out on a permanent basis by the two countries, which lead to strengthening alliances and sharing experiences in the doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures of the Military Forces.

This training seeks to strengthen interoperability demonstrating the professionalism of the troops and reaffirming the joint commitment in the fight against transnational threats and drug trafficking.

Already in the first quarter of 2020, a first exercise was carried out with the participation of more than 100 members of the military units of the United States Southern Command and the same number of ground, sea, air and river soldiers of the Colombian Military Forces.

In the same way, during the months of May and June of this year, troops of the Colombian National Army participated in training events with the infantry of the United States Army at Fort Polk, Louisiana, consolidating processes of cooperation by the two nations.

These strategic exercises seek to increase the training and capacity to operate multilaterally.
