In order to carry a message on the protection of human rights for children and adolescents, the men of the Support Battalion of Comprehensive Action and development No. 7 and its program Fe in Colombia in support of the Joint Task Force Aquiles and the Seventh Division, traveled to the municipalities of Nechí and Zaragoza in the lower Cauca region in the department of Antioquia, to carry out recreational activities in the framework of the campaign "United We are more, join for me”.
This initiative led by the government of Antioquia through its Secretariat of Government, seeks to “promote the observance of human rights and the protection of children”, through trainings and workshops, playful recreational activities, in which messages of safety, transparency and healthy coexistence are studied; in the same way, they were taught on their duties and rights.
In this way, art, music and recreation were the protagonists of the two activities in which the National Army accompanied by the police of children and adolescents, the Colombian Institute for Family Wellbeing (ICBF) and the municipal mayors, teach the children alternative methods for conflict resolution and basic urban norms through the realization of workshops.
During the activities, various professionals from local institutions were trained on local justice systems. In addition, the Municipal Peace Council was introduced with the participation of young people and there was technical advice on the system of criminal responsibility for adolescents.
The National Army is committed to the wellbeing of the inhabitants of Antioquia.
