During 72 hours of uninterrupted operations, the military forces have reaffirmed their commitment to the security of the Colombian southwest, weakening the resources of the organized armed groups, at this moment against the Carlos Patiño structure.
In an important military operation that ratifies the commitment of the Military Forces to the safety and well-being of the inhabitants, within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Plan and in strict respect of human rights and international humanitarian law, it was possible to recover and consolidate the sector of the village La Hacienda, in the municipality of El Tambo, Cauca, which is a strategic point for the illegal activities of the Carlos Patiño Front.
This terrorist group used the area to carry out terrorist operations with drones equipped with explosives and other devices, putting the inhabitants and the troops in the region at risk.
Alias Kevin, the group ringleader of this criminal structure, ordered alias Giovanni to intensify criminal operations of intimidation, restraint and forced displacement through threatening messages sent by WhatsApp, social networks and door-to-door visits. These actions sought to destabilize the communities of Pambilal, Argelia, Hondura, Huisitó, San Juan de Mechegue, among others, with the aim of forcing the displacement of Military and Police Forces.
